Brown had 10 carries for just 20 yards and was not targeted in the passing game in Sunday's 36-6 win at Arizona.
ANALYSIS
For the second straight week, Brown did not find much room, while fellow RB Christine Michael rushed for a career-high 102 yards on 17 carries. Since Thomas Rawls (ankle) was lost for the season three weeks ago, Michael and Brown have split the work, with Michael holding the edge in overall production. Both players will likely return to a reserve role for the playoffs, however, as Marshawn Lynch (abdomen) is expected to return to practice this week and potentially play in Seattle's wild card game.

A bit of an enigma through his first three NFL seasons, Brown has seen his production tail off each year since he entered the league in 2012. Brown managed merely 126 yards on 36 carries with the Bills last season. In fact, Brown was actually more productive as a pass-catcher, as his 15 receptions (on 25 targets) for 176 yards might suggest. Although new coach Rex Ryan is noted for his “ground and pound” offensive philosophy, the presence of fellow running backs LeSean McCoy, Anthony Dixon, and Karlos Williams certainly crowds Brown’s path toward earning consistent touches. On the whole, the 24-year-old is a reserve running back that will have to compete for his place on the Bills' depth chart this season.
After the Eagles acquired Darren Sproles this offseason, Brown became expendable and was shipped to Buffalo during the draft. While the Bills don't have the same offensive talent in place that the Eagles do, it may end up being a positive move for Brown even though he's still third on the depth chart – now behind C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson. Those two guys have not proven to be very durable, and Jackson in particular is ancient for a running back, so Brown will have a chance to work his way into the rotation. He did end last year on a high note, rushing for 126 yards and two touchdowns on just 11 carries in the last two games, and showed some big-play ability in the pass game as well. Brown's proven durable so far in his career, though he's had a relatively light workload, en route to a 4.6 YPC over his first two NFL seasons.
With LeSean McCoy sidelined four games late in 2012 with a concussion, Brown flashed incredible upside in his first two starts, showing a rare blend of speed and power while gaining 347 yards and four touchdowns. His next two starts didn't go as well as he totaled 40 yards and no scores, and he had problems with ball security – Brown fumbled four times, losing three. At 6-0, 223, Brown seems to be an ideal fit for new coach Chip Kelly's offense as he has the power to run through tacklers and sub-4.4 speed to run by defenders on the outside. With McCoy healthy, Brown will likely fill a complementary role, though the Eagles say the plan is to give both a "generous number of carries." If McCoy goes down again, however, Brown could become a top-10 back.
A former five-star recruit coming out of high school, Brown is a player with a lot of athleticism but a questionable attitude. The Eagles selected him in the seventh round of the 2012 draft hoping to capitalize on Brown's potential, but he'll need to show that his head is on straight if he's going to win a roster spot.
