RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for James-Michael Johnson.
Johnson played in all 16 games and started nine for the Chiefs in 2014. Over the course of the season, he racked up 51 tackles (42 solo), but he'll be in a battle with three others (Josh Mauga, Ramik Wilson, D.J. Alexander) for not only a starting spot, but a roster spot in 2015.
In line to play a reserve role at inside linebackers for the Chiefs this season.
Johnson could start at inside LB in the Browns' new 3-4 defense in 2013.
A fourth-round pick in April's draft, Johnson comes into the Browns organization as a four-year college starter and team captain at Nevada. He has experience playing both inside and outside linebacker which could help him to see extra snaps in his rookie campaign. He looks to be the favorite to be the place-holder for Scott Fujita as he serves out his three-game suspension to start the year, and afterwards will provide depth and special teams contributions.
