Coach's Decision
February 13, 2022
Daniels (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Super Bowl matchup with the Rams, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals elevated Daniels to the active roster, but he won't be available to play. The move was likely an insurance policy in case there was an issue with Josh Tupou (knee) during warmups.

Daniels provided steady production for the Packers every year from 2013-2017, but both his games played and output took a hit a year ago, as he played in just 10 games and recorded 18 tackles and two sacks - both his fewest since his rookie year of 2012. The Packers weighed their options throughout the offseason, ultimately cutting Daniels in July after they were unable to find a trade. The veteran quickly signed with the division-rival Lions to be part of a fearsome group on the defensive line.
Daniels remained a key contributor on the Packers' defensive line in 2017, when he tied a career high with 49 tackles despite playing just 14 games. He will again occupy a starting spot for Green Bay, and for as good a player as he is, he could be the team's third-best defensive lineman if offseason addition Muhammad Wilkerson bounces back and the up-and-coming Kenny Clark continues his rise. That could be a good thing for Daniels' fantasy stock, though, as he would rarely see two opposing linemen headed his way.
Daniels both played all 16 games and recorded at least four sacks in 2016 for the fourth straight season. He is subbed out from time to time on passing downs, but he remains the Packers’ top option on the defensive line.
Daniels might not pass the eyeball test at 6-feet tall, but by now he's one of the more respected interior linemen in the league. Despite a relatively small play count of 1,869 snaps over the last three years, Daniels has 113 tackles and 16 sacks. The Packers might need Daniels to play a career-high in snaps this year, however, with B.J. Raji taking a hiatus. If you take Daniels' numbers over the last three years and project them to 800 snaps, you get something in the 50-tackle, seven-sack range, which would make him a solid DL3 type.
Daniels was the Packers' best defensive lineman last year, starting all 16 games and racking up 5.5 sacks. He is not a big fantasy contributor, but he figures to again be the team's best defensive lineman in 2015.
Daniels pleasantly surprised as a second-year pro last season, ranking second on the Packers in sacks (6.5), while also making 23 tackles (17 solo). His versatility and pass rushing ability should earn him significant playing time once again this season, when he's projected to start at defensive end.
Daniels will be part of the Packers' defensive line rotation.
Daniels will provide depth for the Packers along the defensive line.
