RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Matt Daniels.
Daniels will compete for a roster spot but appears to be a longshot to make the 53-man team out of camp.
Daniels was supposed to be the starter for St. Louis for the past two years, but knee and ankle injuries have allowed him to appear in only six games in that span. After the team spent a pair of draft picks on safeties, Daniels found himself out of the running for even a reserve role, earning his release from the Rams in August.
Daniels is struggling with a knee injury heading into the preseason, but it is not serious and he should be good to go come the start of the regular season. He will be the backup strong safety and should see occasional reps during the season.
