Marquess Wilson: Past News Updates   ( ▲ View most recent update )

Wilson underwent surgery Tuesday to repair his broken collarbone and will be sidelined for an undetermined period of time, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Wilson suffered a fractured clavicle while attempting to make a diving catch during Monday's practice. He was reportedly making great strides during training camp in preparation of locking down Chicago's No. 3 wideout position, but the injury will be tough blow to the team's receiving corps. The second-year player has no timetable for his return, although he'll almost certainly miss the entire preseason and at least the first couple weeks of the regular season. In his stead, teammates Eric Weems and Josh Morgan should receive more first-team reps, while a free agent signing is also a possibility to fill Wilson's role.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Wilson was carted off the field during Monday's training camp session after he attempted to lay out for a diving catch. A rapidly rising second-year player, he was expected to fill the Bears' No. 3 wideout position this season but will now be sidelined for an undetermined period of time. Typically, collarbone injuries take up to two months to heal, so Wilson will almost certainly miss the entire preseason and aim to return in the first few weeks of the regular season. With him sidelined, Josh Morgan and Eric Weems figure to compete for slot looks inside Chicago's dynamic duo of Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery.
