RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Benson Mayowa.
Signed as a restricted free agent away from Oakland, Mayowa is a raw pass rusher with the athleticism to make the occasional impressive play but a long way to go yet before he'll be able to harness it consistently in games. The Cowboys' lack of depth at defensive end following suspensions to Randy Gregory and DeMarcus Lawrence could push Mayowa into a starting role to begin the season, which puts him on the IDP radar, but he has a lot to prove before he'll be worth a roster spot in most fantasy leagues.
Mayowa is an edge rusher that will look to make the Raiders' roster for a second consecutive year. He only recorded eight tackles in 2014 as he played primarily special teams, which is most likely what he'll be assigned to this season. Barring any injuries across the defensive front, Mayowa will hold very little value as an IDP.
Mayowa will compete for one of the last spots on the defensive line. He played sparingly last season (two games).
