The Rams selected Mason in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft, 75th overall.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

This is a great pick for St. Louis in terms of value, as Mason is a significant talent who should eventually start in the NFL. The problem, of course, is the Rams already have Zac Stacy returning from an impressive rookie season. Stacy is still the favorite to start for St. Louis, but we suspect Mason is too good to keep off the field. A dreaded running back committee could be around the corner in St. Louis.
Although NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Mason will need post-draft wrist surgery, Mason himself denies the report.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Mason took to Twitter shortly after the report surfaced and was obviously a bit irritated. Mason's tweet stated "I WILL NOT be having any type of surgery on my body! Well and healthy." It's possible that some teams view surgery as necessary while others don't, but either way we don't think this news affects Mason's draft stock to any noteworthy extent. He was looking at the late second round or the early third to begin with, and he should stay in that same range. He'll likely be one of the first two or three runners selected.
Mason will need post-draft wrist surgery, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)

Mason's wrist was revealed to not be fully healed during combine medical exams, and will need to have surgery to correct the issue and ensure it heals properly moving forward. This will cause the Auburn running back to miss the OTAs of whatever team selects him, forgoing valuable time to get acquainted with his prospective offense. Despite the unfortunate news, Mason's draft stock isn't expected to take a large hit, per Rapoport.
Mason, a running back from Auburn, will enter the 2014 NFL Draft.
