Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)The 23rd overall selection in the draft, Ford will serve as an off-the-bench pass rusher as a rookie, but will have a chance to displace Tamba Hali from the starting lineup in 2015. Unless he has DL eligibility in your fantasy league, he's unlikely to make an IDP impact in either season.
Exclusive Fantasy Analysis (FREE PREVIEW)This selection would seem to hint that the Chiefs don't necessarily think they'll keep Tamba Hali beyond 2014. Ford will provide depth so long as both Hali and Justin Houston are on the roster, but he's probably not good enough to threaten the playing time of either. With immediate impacts still on the board at receiver and defensive back, this seems like a dubious pick for Kansas City. They don't have a second-round pick.
RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
The Chiefs selected Ford with the 23rd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He likely won’t be anything more than a pass-rushing specialist this season but he could eventually be the answer at linebacker if the Chiefs fail to re-sign Tamba Hali after this season. Ford is an explosive edge-rusher but he lacks the necessary cover skills to be an every-down player at this point in his career.
