RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
The Rams' opening at free safety is far from being filled, as three candidates appear to be jockeying for the role. Alexander, who struggled in five starts during 2015, will need to fight off Cody Davis and Christian Bryant to reclaim the job, but, at press time, none of the three seem to have an edge for the job.
Alexander registered four tackles in mainly special teams duty in 2014. The Rams have an abundance of depth in the defensive backfield, so barring injury Alexander will not see much time at safety this season.
The Rams have high expectations for Alexander, as safety was one of their rough spots in 2013. Alexander had a terrific college career at Utah State and should get a shot at the starting spot heading into training camp.
