Green has finished higher than $1 million three of his six years on the PGA Tour, so his upside is known, but his last two seasons have been terrible. Fortunately, Green secured his card at Q-School, so he'll get another shot to finish in the Top-125. Green was one of the final competitors to qualify, so his starts might be limited this season, but it won't take much to get on top of his number from last season.
Green appeared to take a step back after an embarrassing playoff loss in his rookie season, but after struggling for the following two seasons, he appears to be back on track. Green picked up his first PGA TOUR win last season at the RBC Canadian Open, and while his consistency is still lacking, (only one top-10 all season), the win should prove helpful this season as his confidence will be at an all-time high.
Green took another step back last season as his earnings number dropped for the second consecutive year. Sure, he may have set the bar a little high in 2006, but that's no excuse for falling below the million dollar mark last year. Green appears to have enough upside to turn it around, and might be worth the risk here.
Nathan Green had a consistent, but not spectacular year in 2007. He failed to crack the top-2 at any event, but he carded nine top-25s out of 29 events. Over his two-year career, Green has made the cut nearly 80 percent of the time. Green will be entering his third year on tour, and should start to find ways to improve after making it to the weekend.
Green appeared on the scene early in 2006 when he butchered the final hole at the Buick Invitational, losing in playoff with Tiger Woods. After that he struggled quite a bit. Not surprising, because the way he finished at the Buick was so disappointing. It took a while for Green to recover, but when he finally did, he played some pretty good golf. A fourth-place finish at the Buick Championship in July started a streak of 13 consecutive cuts made, including three top-10s and a couple other top-25s. It appears as if his head is now straight and he should be productive out of the gate in
Green is a former European Tour member who won his PGA Tour card in Q-School and could be a sleeper this season.
