Kapanen had seven goals and 14 points for the Flyers in 51 games last season. The 33-year-old held off retirement talk with a solid season for the NHL-worst Flyers. He's a good utility player but he's getting caught in the transition of the team's game plan, so don't look for any miracles.
There's talk Kapanen may spend some time on defense in 2006-07. Either way, at this point in his career, there shouldn't be any fantasy impact. This could very possibly be Kapanen's last season in the NHL.
A shoulder injury will knock out the first two months of Kapanen's season, and then he will realistically need a little time to get back into the swing of things. Expect him to produce beginning right after New Years', with a 35-point season being realistic.

Kapanen is seeing increased ice time as the series with the Capitals moves to Game 4. According to the Flyers' official site, Kapanen went from the press box in Game 1 to just over nine minutes in Game 2, then rose to over 12 minutes in last Tuesday's 6-3 Game 3 triumph. He earned praise from teammates and staff after his performance on Tuesday.
