Probert passed away suddenly Monday after complaining of severe chest pains and collapsing, according to a report on Toronto's FAN590. He was 45.

He was perhaps the league's best-ever tough guy, accumulating a whopping 3,300 PIMs in 935 games with the Blackhawks and Red Wings. But he was more than a colorful fighter -- he could actually score. He potted 163 goals and added 221 assists over his career and earned an All-Star berth in 1988. He is survived by his wife and four children.
