Reid has signed a contract to play for the Düsseldorfer EG Metro Stars in the German league for the upcoming season, according to reports out of Europe.

ANALYSIS
Reid spent the lockout year playing for the Hamburg Freezers (honest, we didn't make up that name) of the DEL and tallied 47 points and a plus-10 rating in 45 games that year. It's perhaps a sign of the times that a small forward (5-9 and 175 pounds) has turned his sights on an option other than the NHL. The league seems to be swinging back in favor of the big men.
