Rahimi appeared in 55 games last season with Rogle Angelholm of the Swedish Elite League, scoring once and assist seven times. There are plenty of Shark skaters ahead of him in the blue line pecking order, making it likely that he won't see time in the NHL this season.
Rahimi and Patrick White came over to the Sharks from the Canucks in a trade involving defensemen Brad Lukowich and Christian Ehrhoff. Even though Rahimi didn’t fit into the Canucks‘ plans, he should eventually aid Team Teal in the physicality department. However, it likely won’t happen this season.
Rahimi split time between Victoria of the ECHL and Manitoba of the AHL last season with disappointing results -- he notched a lackluster 10 points in 60 games. He is a work-in-progress and will need a few more years in the minors before making any kind of impact in Vancouver.
Rahimi is a young defenseman with a solid future in Vancouver, however his fantasy value isn't high as he will act as a depth defenseman in 2007-08.
