RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Harry Zolnierczyk.
Zolnierczyk played last season with the Penguins and will provide the Islanders with some organizational depth at wing this year. He is unlikely to start the season with the team but could get a call up as the year rolls along.
It's kind of a mystery why the Penguins signed Zolnierczyk over the summer. The former Flyer has picked up three goals and seven points in 44 NHL games spread out over two seasons and competes well enough, but Pens fans might remember him best for being on the receiving end of a flurry of Joe Vitale punches during the 2012 postseason. He gives Pittsburgh forward depth with some NHL experience. Zolnierczyk tallied just one assist in seven games for the Flyers last year.
Zolnierczyk played in his first 37 NHL games with the Flyers last season and posted six points and a minus-11 rating. He’ll likely spend most of his time between the AHL and the NHL this year, as he is at least a season away from any consistent ice time with Philadelphia.
