The Devils did not tender a contract offer to Rehill on Thursday, making him eligible for the NHL draft later this month,
The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Rehill was originally selected by New Jersey with a fifth-round pick in the 2014 draft. He could be of interest to a club that needs a physical defenseman capable of setting up scores. The 20-year-old spent the past four seasons with WHL Kamloops, recording 82 points (21 goals, 61 assists) and a whopping 508 PIM in 249 games. He also appeared in one AHL game with Albany on a tryout basis this past season, but failed to make an impact.
