Once famous a winger who played on a line with Pavel Bure in Florida, Nilson has played for Stockholm in the Swedish Elite league the past three sesons. He last saw NHL ice with Calgary during the 2007-08 campaign.
In Nilson's three seasons with Calgary, he has been a great asset. While he doesn't score much, he is a terrific grind-line specialist and is one of the better defensive forwards in the NHL.
A nasty knee injury cut Nilson's season short last season, keeping him out of the last two months and the playoffs. He appears ready to go for 2006-07, however. Nilson is a great fourth line winger with a decent amount of points and a good plus/minus, but remains a fantasy non-factor.
Nilson will be moved to left wing to start this year and is renewed with 2003/04 linemates, Stephane Yelle and Shean Donovan. This line will be used to go against most team’s top lines and give them fits. Nilson's is more of a defensive forward and his point potential is around 30, for a winger there are much better options out there.
