RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014-15

There was no outlook written for Dick Tarnstrom.

2007-08

Tarnstrom makes his return to the NHL in 2007-08 after a year in Switzerland. He has the ability to put some points on the board, but don't forget the Oilers added Sheldon Souray and Joni Pitkanen, so they will get lion's share of power play time.

2005-06

Tarnstrom had an incredibly underrated season in 2003-04. He led the team in scoring as a defenseman, a defenseman, with 52 points (16/36). He ranked first among NHL blueliners in power play goals (12) and points (38). His reward? The Penguins go out and sign stud defender Sergei Gonchar to a $25 million contract. Tarnstrom will put up points wherever he plays, but with Gonchar in Pittsburgh, a trade would likely boost his numbers.
