Armstrong faces an uphill battle to make the Blues final roster. The 36-year-old is looking for a spot on the fourth line, and has had a good preseason. His experience playing for coach Andy Murray (with the Kings) could gain him a roster spot.
Armstrong finally came close to a fully healthy season but still missed a handful of games with a knee injury. He's a 35-40 point player with limited upside.
Armstrong had his most productive season last year with 11 goals and 44 points along with a +13 plus/minus rating. This season might not be the case with the acquisitions of Ladislav Nagy, Michal Handzus and Kyle Calder so his numbers will most likely be down.
Second or third line center, who could put up 40 points or more this season.
Armstrong has a good shot at making the Kings, but only as a fourth line center. The third line is a possibility as well depending on what lines Pavol Demitra and Craig Conroy are placed.
