RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Triston Grant.
Grant is more of a bruiser than a scorer, registering 236 penalty minutes in 74 games with the AHL Milwaukee Admirals last season. However, he did add 25 points (12G, 13A) over that span, so he could be a nice combination of PIM's and points if he ever manages to stick at the NHL level. He saw three games with the Predators last year in a callup role when Joel Ward went down with injury, but he is expected to open this season back in the minors.
Grant came over to the Preds during the summer in a trade from the Flyers. He's spent most of the last three seasons with the Phantoms of the AHL. Grant tallied 10 goals and 11 assists in 72 games last season, but more importantly he racked up a respectable 181 penalty minutes. With the Preds looking for some tough guys and some muscle, Grant will be given an audition for team enforcer during preseason camp.
