RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014-15

There was no outlook written for Derek Peltier.

2010-11

Peltier has served as an occasional injury replacement for the Avalanche the past two years, having skated in 14 NHL games over that span. The Avs let him walk and he hooked on with the Blues' affiliate in the AHL, the Peoria Rivermen. Peltier will continue to provide some blue line depth from the minors -- though now it's for a different organization. Peltier has three goals and 29 assists over the past two seasons with the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters.

2009-10

Peltier was called up from the AHL late last season and played during the Avs' final 11 regular-season games. He did not figure in any scoring and skated only about 10-12 minutes per game. The Avs have a well-stocked blue line this season, so he will be in tough to crack the roster unless one or more of the team's regular defensemen go down with injuries.
