RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2015-16

There was no outlook written for Tyson Strachan.

2013-14

Strachan was with the Panthers last season, appearing in 38 games, notching four points on four assists. He was signed for depth to a one-year two-way contract during the offseason. It will be an interesting reception in Washington for Strachan who blindsided Chimera in March 2013. Strachan has little fantasy value.

2012-13

Strachan recorded 20 total points splitting time between the AHL and NHL this past season. Strachan could find his way onto the back-end of the Panther roster, but should be reserved for only the deepest of leagues. If he were to make the NHL roster, his offensive potential is limited given the talent Florida has on their blue line in Brian Campbell, Dmitry Kulikov, Filip Kuba and Eric Gudbranson.

2010-11

Strachan was re-signed by the Blues to a two-way deal and will compete for one of the final blue-line spots in St. Louis. He played mostly in the AHL for the past two seasons, but does have 38 games of NHL experience with the Blues.

2009-10

Strachan was one of the last cuts in training camp, and will be one of the first to return should a defenseman get injured. Even if he does get back to St. Louis, the organization is more committed to rookie Alex Pietrangelo, who will be the first choice when it comes to regular shifts.
