Lindstrom was shipped to the Panthers in a mid-January four-player swap this past season with Carolina, who owned Lindstrom's rights. Lindstrom is a physical two-way player and needs to remains healthy, on a more consistent basis, if he plans to make the jump to the NHL in the near future. Lindstrom is expected to remain in Sweden this coming season where he will look to improve on his stick handling and skating ability. Lindstrom has the potential to be a viable long-term keeper option should he establish a regular role in the NHL.

The ‘Canes solidified its depth at the forward position by signing Lindstrom, a European prospect, to a three-year, entry-level contract this past June. He’s coming off two short seasons with Skelleftea of the Swedish Elite League and is expected to compete for an NHL job in 2011-12.

Lindstrom is a Swedish born athlete with a 6-foot-4, 203-pound frame. Just 19 years, Lindstrom is known as a physical player who often sacrifices his body out on the ice. However, he's likely a few years away from an NHL job.
