Mikus really hasn't done much of anything since coming over to the Kings organization back in 2009-10. He split time between the KHL and the Finnish elite league last year, but seems unlikely to ever resume his NHL career.
Mikus has been a pretty large bust since the King signed him as an unrestricted free agent back in 2009. He didn't fare much better last year (nine points in 45 games) in the KHL after a disappointing North American debut in the AHL the previous season. His contract with the Kings is up and there's a chance he won't be re-signed. At this point he just needs to start producing in whatever league he winds up in.
Mikus struggled in his first season in the AHL, netting just four goals in 56 games after flashing some promise in the Slovakian league (31 G in 56 games) the previous season. If his first stint in the AHL is any indication it's gonig to take awhile before it makes much of an impact with the Kings.
