RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Kent Simpson.
The 22-year-old netminder might be considered third in the Blackhawks' pecking order in net. He was 11-14-1 with a 3.64 goals-against average in 31 games for Rockford last season and will be ticketed for that level again.
Simpson could be the goalie of the day or the goalie for this season. At 20, he's the youngest of the trio vying for time at Rockford of the AHL; both Carter Hutton and Alec Richards are 25. Simpson will be in tough, but he could be the Hawks' goalie of the future, especially if Corey Crawford doesn't grow his game.
Simpson was assigned to the Juniors in September of 2010 and will most likely be there for the entire season.
