RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Klas Dahlbeck.
Dahlbeck was acquired at the trade deadline from Chicago as part of the Antoine Vermette trade that also netted the Coyotes a first-round draft pick. He played 23 games in the NHL between the two clubs last seson, registering four points and a minus-8 rating. Dahlbeck is on a two-way contract with Arizona for the upcoming season, but he is expected to make the club and play most of the season at the NHL level. While he lacks notable offensive upside, Dahlbeck could be a steady second- or third-pairing defenseman this season and for many years to come.
The 23-year-old blueliner was named co-defender of the year for AHL Rockford and had a cup of coffee with the Hawks last season. He could be considered the most NHL-ready defenseman in the system and could see some time with the Hawks this season, but most of his time will still be spent with the IceHogs. He's a stay-at-home defenseman, but still had 10 goals and 25 assists in 75 games last season. We'll wait to judge his fantasy impact until he earns a full-time gig in the bigs.
