RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Maxime Clermont.
A sixth-round pick following his junior career with Gatineau of the QMJHL, Clermont played in two games at Albany (AHL) last season before spending the majority of his time with ECHL Kalamazoo. In the western Michigan city, Clermont posted a 13-10-3 record with peripheral stats that could have been stronger. The Devils suddenly have a logjam of minor league netminders, so Clermont will have to clearly distinguish himself within the organization to gain some attention.
The Devils will decide during training camp if Clermont will join the team's minor league system or play in the QMJHL with Gatineau. He's posted solid numbers in junior and will join Jeff Frazee and Keith Kinkaid in the Devils' minor league system. Regardless of where Clermont plays this season, he's a few years away from the NHL.
