RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2016-17

There was no outlook written for Petter Granberg.

2014-15

Granberg should break camp as the Leafs' seventh defender, but he'll need to beat out Korbinian Holzer to do it. There, he'll ascend to a regular role if Cody Franson heads out of town in a trade. However, he won't ever replace Franson's offense. Granberg is the epitome of a shutdown defender - he's strong and aggressive, is extremely powerful in one-on-one battles, and he'll do it without taking unnecessary penalties. That will make him a stud on the ice and a dud in the fantasy arena.

2013-14

Granberg will join the Toronto Marlies for 2013-14 after racking up the hardware in Sweden. Try a gold medal at the World Junior tourney, two Swedish Hockey League Championships (in 2012 and 2013) and a World Championship goal this past spring. He projects as a more physical Carl Gunnarsson type, which will be great on the ice, but not so helpful in the fantasy arena.

2012-13

Granberg is a young Swedish, stay-at-home blueliner who'll be much better on the ice than in the fantasy arena.
