Back-to-back seasons of 50-plus points with the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets have increased the buzz surrounding Olsen, a sixth-round draft choice by the Jets in 2012. Unlike several of the organization’s upper-tier center prospects, size is not a concern for Olsen, who checks in at a solidly-built, 6-2 and 194 lbs. Now 20, Olsen will likely ply his trade with AHL St. John’s during the upcoming season. While he may notice a decline in his scoring numbers as a result of the older competition, his scrappiness (160 PIM over the last two seasons with Kelowna) should allow him to find a niche.
