Ba signed with Besiktas on Thursday after transferring from Chelsea, the club's official web site reports.

Ba joined Chelsea in January 2013 after scoring 29 goals for Newcastle in the season-and-a-half prior. However, he never seemed to fit in at Chelsea, with Fernando Torres getting most of the starts up front and Samuel Eto'o getting any fill-in work last season. Ba will surely get more playing time at Besiktas, which could allow him to show his skills in a potential return back to England in the future.

Ba scored in extra time of the first half of Chelsea's 2-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Ba started the match ahead of Fernando Torres, who eventually replaced him with less than 10 minutes remaining. It didn't get much easier for Ba, who took an errant pass from Steven Gerrard, who then slipped, and took it all the way to the goal to open the scoring for the Blues. Ba now has three goals in his last five matches in all competitions, and he could be the starter again for Tuesday's Champions League match against Atletico Madrid.

Ba scored a goal in the 68th minute of Chelsea's 1-0 win over Swansea City on Sunday.

After scoring in last Tuesday's Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain as a substitute, Ba was given the start Sunday ahead of both Samuel Eto'o and Fernando Torres. Ba was all of a forgotten man this season, but has now scored in back-to-back matches and could get some more playing time as Chelsea continue to work their way back to the top of the table.

Ba said that talks are underway about a move away from Chelsea this summer, reports Sky Sports.

The forward hasn't started a match since December after joining Chelsea from Newcastle in January of 2013. He said his preference would be to stay in the Premier League.

Ba came on for Samuel Eto'o in the 76th minute and then scored in the 88th and 89th minutes of Chelsea's 4-0 rout of Tottenham on Saturday.

With Fernando Torres pulled right before the match after picking up an injury in warmups, Ba was able to make just his 13th Premier League appearance this season. Despite the success, he remains a very limited fantasy option.

Ba came on for Michael Essien at halftime and scored in the 90th minute of Chelsea's 3-1 win over Southampton on Sunday.

Ba poked home a Ramires pass that surely should have been saved but backup goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga wasn't able to do so. Ba's inclusion in Sunday's match was surely a result of Samuel Eto'o's hamstring injury, which is expected to keep him out for at least two weeks. With a midweek match coming up for Chelsea, Ba could continue to see the pitch in the short-term, although Fernando Torres, who started Sunday's match, is the higher upside play of the two.

Besiktas may try to bring Ba to Turkey from the Premier League this winter after failing to secure him on loan last summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Ba has not made a permanent impression on Chelsea's starting line up, and could fall further down the depth chart if new players arrive in January. He has only made three league appearances so far this season.
