Delaney redirected a shot into his own net, scoring an own goal that ultimately decided Crystal Palace's 2-1 loss to Arsenal on Sunday.

Delaney's unfortunate own goal came after he attempted to clear a close range header from Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, but in doing so, redirected the ball into Crystal Palace's net. Following his Week 1 goal at Norwich, Delaney found the scoresheet again Sunday, but certainly not in the fashion he would have hoped.

Delaney returned to the starting XI for Saturday's 1-0 loss to Manchester United.

Delaney missed Monday's defeat to Sunderland due to an illness after being left out of the previous game at West Brom due to a one-game suspension. Delaney rejoined central defensive partner Scott Dann and they will continue for the game against Liverpool in two weeks time.

Delaney has recovered from a bout of the flu ahead of Saturday's trip to Manchester United, manager Neil Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser.

Delaney missed the game after falling ill on Friday and hasn't played since being sent off against Chelsea midway through last month. "On Friday he was sent home with a bug or something, then Alex Manos (first team physio) said I couldn't use him on Saturday," manager Neil Warnock said. "He'll come back into the squad for this weekend." Delaney should replace Brede Hangeland at centre half and resume a partnership with Scott Dann that has already produced two clean sheets this season.

Delaney (suspension) won't play this Saturday against West Brom.

Delaney (suspension) was given his marching orders in the first half of last week's 2-1 defeat against Chelsea after picking up two yellow cards. Delaney and central defensive partner Scott Dann (knee) are both out and it will be down to Brede Hangeland and Adrian Mariappa to fill the void.

Delaney was given his marching orders in the 43rd minute in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Chelsea.

Delaney needlessly brought down Chelsea forward Loic Remy for a second yellow card that evened up the numbers. The centre back's first yellow came after he argued back with the referee following an earlier foul and he is now out of next week's match at West Bromwich Albion.
