De Rossi won two tackles and provided an assist in Saturday's 3-1 win over Napoli.

De Rossi has in his usual holding role, but he was able to spot a gap and sent Mohamed Salah through for his goal in the 85th minute. De Rossi is not known for his offensive contributions and should be a lackluster fantasy option for most matches, including Thursday's Europa League fixture with Austria Wien.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

De Rossi (calf) is starting on Sunday against Sampdoria.

De Rossi picked up the injury during an international friendly against France over the recent break, but it was never considered serious and he'll slot into his regular spot in the Roma midfield. He's a vital piece of the unit, though his fantasy upside is somewhat limited due to his lack of attacking prowess.

De Rossi has been ruled out of Italy's World Cup qualifier against Israel on Monday with an injured calf, L'Equipe reports.

De Rossi picked up the ailment after the friendly clash with France on Thursday and this will put his Serie A return with Roma in doubt.

De Rossi was on the bench for Saturday's 4-0 victory over Udinese, and did not play.

After playing 97 minutes mid-week against Porto, much of which saw them playing down a man, De Rossi got a needed rest. He should resume his role in midfield when they play the second leg of the Champions League playoff against the Portuguese club on Tuesday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

De Rossi made three starts for Italy during Euro 2016, receiving one yellow card on five fouls. He takes his international record to 18 goals in 106 caps. Italy were eliminated dramatically after a quarterfinals penalty shoot-out loss to Germany.

De Rossi couldn't find regular playing time in a loaded Roma midfield last season. The 32-year-old central midfielder wasn't much of a fantasy factor even when on the field, though, as he often had very defensive deployment. The veteran finished the season with one goal, two assists and nine yellow cards in 24 Serie A appearances (23 starts).

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

De Rossi is questionable for Saturday's match against Germany because of a thigh injury, reports.

De Rossi has done very little during the Euros, so while his potential absence could hurt Italy's depth, it's unlikely to affect many fantasy decisions.

The veteran midfielder played 66 minutes into Roma's 3-0 win over Chievo.

De Rossi has had some injuries this season and the play of teammates Miralem Pjanic and Radja Nainggolan have pushed him to the bench. De Rossi may need to be ready this summer as he could be recalled to play for Italy now that starting center midfielders Claudio Marchisio and Marco Verratti could both miss the tournament due to injury.

The veteran midfielder is expected to miss a month of action due to a calf injury, Football Italia reports.

Roma's chances of getting back at Real Madrid have not gotten any better with this news.
