Yoshida netted one goal on one shot in the clean sheet victory against West Ham on Saturday.

Yoshida took a right footed shot from the center of the box off a pass from Victor Wanyama to score the one and only goal of the match in the ninth minute. This was his first goal this season and his ninth Premier League start, however, he's an infrequent starter for Southampton and is a rare attacker.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Yoshida started for the resting Nathaniel Clyne against Hull City on Saturday and helped the Saints earn a clean sheet.

Yoshida provides very little in the attack and rarely sees the field, severely limiting his fantasy value. Expect him to return to the bench next week versus Stoke City.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Yoshida started again and played 90 minutes in Tuesday's shutout victory over Crystal Palace.

Yoshida was able to post a clean sheet for his owners on Tuesday but will likely find himself back on the bench next week versus Chelsea, as starter Toby Alderweireld is expected to make his return to the lineup.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Yoshida will miss at least two Premier League matches while playing for Japan in the Asian Cup, Sky Sports reports.

Yoshida has gotten a few starts of late, though with Ryan Bertrand fit and Nathaniel Clyne (ankle) close, his absence shouldn't be too hard to replace for the Saints.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Yoshida scored the final goal in Southampton's 3-0 win over Everton on Saturday.

The Japanese defender scored only his second goal for Southampton on his fifth start of the season. Yoshida played in a back three alongside regular starters Toby Alderweireld and Jose Fonte. The success of this formation and his goal may mean that the Saints' continue with it, meaning Yoshida may be due more Premier League minutes in coming games.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Yoshida played the entirety of Southampton's season opening loss at Liverpool on Sunday.

Yoshida slotted next to Jose Fonte in central defense, filling the void created after Southampton sold Dejan Lovren to Liverpool this summer. The Japanese international's promotion to the starting XI is hardly surprising, as he managed 31 starts in 2012-2013, before Lovren's arrival last summer limited him to just seven starts last term. With a more consistent role this season, Yoshida's fantasy stock is on the rise, but will largely hinge on how Southampton's defense holds up amid numerous departures in the transfer window.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Yoshida, who missed a majority of the second-half of last season with a knee injury, played 90 minutes for Japan on Tuesday in a friendly against Costa Rica, Southampton's official web site reports.

Yoshida's role with Southampton will be in question heading into next season, although with Luke Shaw expected to leave for a bigger club, as well as interest in Dejean Lovren and Jose Fonte, he could re-find his role.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Yoshida suffered a right knee injury in training Tuesday and could miss the rest of the Premier League season, the club's official web site reports.

Yoshida has appeared in only eight games this season and was an unused substitute in the last four Premier League matches.
