Saborio scored United's lone goal Thursday against NYC FC after taking three shots on goal.

Saborio has fared well since joining D.C. as he now has taken eight shots on goal in the past four games, resulting in two goals. Additionally, the current absence of Fabian Espindola (knee) hasn't really affected Saborio's production, and the impending return of Espindola won't likely change much either which allows for Saborio to be used across all formats rather routinely.

Saborio is in the starting XI for Sunday's game against Philadelphia.

Saborio will be making his D.C. United debut Sunday after being dealt from Real Salt Lake over a week ago in exchange for Luis Silva. The veteran is likely on tap to start every week moving forward, as head coach Ben Olsen looks to utilize Saborio, Chris Rolfe, and Fabian Espindola in the same formation.

D.C. United head coach Ben Olsen said Saborio is "in the mix" to play Sunday against Philadelphia, MLSSoccer.com reports.

Saborio had been away with Costa Rica for the Gold Cup, but trained with D.C. United on Tuesday for his first action with the club since being traded from Real Salt Lake. Saborio is RSL's all-time leading goal scorer and is expected to be the prototypical No. 9 for United.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Saborio was traded to D.C. United on Thursday in exchange for Luis Silva, the Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Saborio is RSL's all-time leading scorer, bagging double-digit goals in four consecutive seasons between 2010 and 2013. He has three goals this season but was recently suspended after failing to return on time after personal leave. He is currently with Costa Rica for the Gold Cup, and may need to wait until August to make his D.C. United debut.

Saborio was suspended by the team for Wednesday's match against the Red Bulls, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

Saborio missed last weekend's match due to a personal issue, but the team announced that whatever the issue was did not get resolved, and Saborio did not return on time, which prompted the suspension. He is on Costa Rica's Gold Cup roster, so he could be away for most of July, leaving Devon Sandoval to continue to start in his absence.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Saborio (personal) is not expected to rejoin Real until after his stint with Costa Rica in the CONCACAF Gold Cup according to head coach Jeff Cassar, Christopher Kamrani of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Saborio missed Sunday's game against Kansas City due to a personal matter and it appears that his personal duties will continue to leave him unavailable for Real leading up to the Gold Cup which occupies the majority of July. Depending on how far Costa Rica advances, Devon Sandoval will take over Saborio's spot in the starting XI for the better part of the next five weeks.

Saborio will not play Sunday against Sporting KC because of a personal matter, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

Devon Sandoval will get the start up front for RSL, while it remains unclear if Saborio will be able to play Wednesday against the Red Bulls.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Saborio (international duty) was available for Tuesday's U.S. Open Cup win over Seattle Sounders 2.

Saborio was previously competing abroad for Costa Rica but has since rejoined his club squad and is expected to be available for Sunday's MLS match against Sporting KC. However, Saborio will likely depart RSL yet again for Costa Rica's upcoming match on June 27, making him very doubtful for the June 24 game against the Red Bulls.
