Gayle scored twice and got an assist in Saturday's 3-2 win at Burnley.

Gayle smashed the ball home in the 28th minute from close range following Wilfried Zaha's deflected cross to get Palace back into the game at 1-2. He passed the ball to Jason Puncheon in the 48th minute before the winger placed it into the bottom corner from 25 yards. The striker finished the comeback by firing home from a tight angle in the 87th minute from Puncheon's cross. Gayle now has five goals this season and looks a good bet to build on that tally against Everton next time out.

Gayle (back) confirmed he was "okay" after leaving Saturday's 1-1 draw against Swansea City, according to BBC London reporter Nick Godwin.

Gayle scored in the 17th minute of Sunday's 3-1 win against Liverpool.

Gayle showed his predatory instinct by slamming the ball home after Yannick Bolasie's shot came back off the post. Gayle was then fouled by Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel, captain Mile Jedinak making it 3-1 from the resulting free kick. The striker was a surprise starter in place of Fraizer Campbell, and now has two goals and an assist. All of those contributions have come in the three games that he has started.

Gayle didn't make the starting XI for Sunday's 3-2 win at Everton.

The striker was left on the bench by manager Neil Warnock and didn't manage to enter the fray as the team won 3-2. Gayle started the previous two games and scored against Newcastle United but was replaced by the returning Joe Ledley in Sunday's starting XI. The striker will be rotated by manager Neil Warnock depending on the game and tends to score when picked, which should mean at least six to seven goals this season.

Gayle scored after just 30 seconds before limping off in Saturday's 3-3 draw at Newcastle.

Gayle followed up Marouane Chamakh's saved effort to smash the ball past Newcastle keeper Tim Krul before coming off injured in the 70th minute. Gayle was starting for the first time in the league this season after replacing Fraizer Campbell in the starting line-up and took his chance. Gayle has a terrific strike rate in the Premier League and if he stays in the side will be good for at least eight to 10 goals this season.

Gayle scored a hat trick in the first 45 minutes of Tuesday’s 3-1 win at Walsall in the Capital One Cup second round.

Gayle started his first game of the season and had three goals after just 41 minutes of the encounter with the League One side before being replaced in the 61st minute. Gayle was joint top scorer for Crystal Palace last season with seven league goals and is pushing hard for the sole striker spot ahead of Saturday’s game at Newcastle. His rival for that position is Fraizer Campbell, who hasn’t scored in his first two games, and neither seems that good an option fantasy-wise given Newcastle’s solid start at the back.

Gayle appeared as a second-half substitute in Saturday's defeat to West Ham United.

Gayle replaced Fraizer Campbell in the 70th minute and failed to make an impression on the 3-1 defeat. Gayle is behind Campbell in the pecking order and is only used as an impact substitute by caretaker boss Keith Millen.
