RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Kallstrom's back was not deemed fit enough to allow him to participate in Sunday's win over Tottenham, which means his next opportunity to play will come this Saturday at Chelsea.

Kallstrom has yet to make his Arsenal debut after joining on loan from Spartak Moscow in January. The Gunners could surely use another body in midfield, with Aaron Ramsey (thigh), Jack Wilshere (ankle), and Mesut Ozil (hamstring) all sidelined with injuries.

Kallstrom (back) joined the normal training group Thursday and may be fit enough to feature in Sunday's Premier League match against Tottenham.

Kallstrom has not played for the Gunners since coming over on loan from Spartak Moscow in January. However, with Aaron Ramsey (thigh), Jack Wilshere (ankle), Mesut Ozil (hamstring), and Theo Walcott (knee), all out for Arsenal, Kallstrom will certainly be needed.

Kallstrom (back) is getting nearer to making his loan debut for Arsenal after signing for the club in January, but being out with injury, reports the Mirror.

The midfielder is targeting a return to action for Arsenal's match against Tottenham. Initial fears were that the player would not recover in time to ever actually play for Arsenal, but that chance appears to be getting closer.

Arsene Wenger claims Arsenal knew about Kallstrom's back injury all along, according to ESPN FC. The Gunners expect Kallstrom will be available at "the end of February to mid-March."

Kallstrom was added as a depth piece with a defensive tilt, so there's probably not a fantasy bonanza coming here.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Kallstrom, who joined Arsenal on loan from Spartak Moscow, aggravated a back injury in his first training session with the Gunners and is expected to miss the next six weeks, Goal.com reports.

Kallstrom was Arsenal's only signing during the January transfer window and falling to an injury a mere 30 minutes into his tenure with the new squad couldn't have been any worse of an introduction. A minor back issue was revealed during his medical ahead of his loan move, but Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger approved of the move anyway. Ironically, Kallstrom will miss roughly the same amount of time as Aaron Ramsey (thigh), the player who he was supposed to replace in the lineup until he reached fitness.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Kallstrom has joined Arsenal on loan from Russian side Spartak Moscow for the remainder of this season, the Gunners' official website reports.

Kallstrom is a 31-year-old defensive midfielder who should help provide cover in the middle of the park for Arsenal. The Swedish international gained most of his experience in Ligue 1 before moving to Russia last season. Kallstrom could see early playing time in light of Mathieu Flamini's recent suspension and injuries to Aaron Ramsey (thigh) and Jack Wilshere (ankle); however, given the defensive role he often plays, Kallstrom's fantasy contributions will likely be limited.
