Gil was a healthy scratch for Saturday's game against the Sounders, Chris Kamrani of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Gil has seen inconsistent playing time over the past three months despite being a perennial starter at the onset of the season. As of right now Gil is a hard player to utilize across all formats as it's an uncertainty whether or not he'll even be included in head coach Jeff Cassar's 18-man lineup.

Gil was removed from Saturday's starting XI shortly before kickoff against the Rapids, Chris Kamrani of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

John Stertzer replaced Gil in the starting XI on Saturday. It remains unclear why Gil was removed on such short notice, although he came into Saturday with a recent shoulder injury that was picked up earlier in the week during training.

Gil (shoulder) will start in Saturday's game against the Rapids.

Gil is coming into Saturday with a shoulder injury that he suffered during training but RSL has a litany of absences already as Gil could be less than 100 percent when he takes the field against Colorado.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gil picked up a left shoulder injury during Wednesday's training session and is now in question for Saturday's game against Colorado, Chris Kamrani of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Gil took a hard fall Wednesday that was compounded with fellow teammate Luke Mulholland crashing down on top of him. RSL is already dealing with a whole host of absences so Gil may ultimately be forced into action Saturday despite this injury scare. However, he should officially be considered a game-time decision.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gil is expected to start Wednesday against the Galaxy in place of Javier Morales, who remains out with a concussion, the Deseret News reports.

Gil has yet to score this season, though he's started and played 90 minutes in three consecutive games. Unfortunately, he's taken only three shots over that span, so a breakout in production level to Morales' appears unlikely. Morales has also been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Fire, and possibly next weekend's match against the Impact, giving Gil plenty of opportunities to show he belongs to stay in the staring lineup.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Gil got a bit of a lucky break, but it found the back of the net in Saturday's 3-0 win over Toronto FC.

It was the first of the season for Gil, who is on the fringe of the U.S. men's national team roster.
