Janmaat picked up an assist off four crosses in the devastating 5-1 loss to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Dutch was one of the few brighter spots in the Magpies' porous D. A nice break on the wing ended up with a lob towards Papiss Cisse and a header in the Palace's net. Janmaat has the potential to pick up some offensive stats but dreadful, in defense, Newcastle team is limiting his fantasy upside.

Janmaat scored in Saturday's 2-1 loss to Watford.

Janmaat slotted in from close range in the 62nd minute after good work from Moussa Sissoko. The right back has been a rare bright spark for a home side that sits second from bottom of the Premier League on goal difference.

Janmaat took five shots (three on target) and was issued a yellow card in Monday's 2-0 loss to West Ham.

Janmaat was the most industrious and productive player for a sluggish Newcastle side on offense, though that often left the Magpies exposed at the back. His first half strike from distance was all the team could muster offensively in the first half before his fellow fullback started jumping into the fray as goals became more necessary. Discipline has been a problem for Janmaat already this season as a red card against Swansea earned him a one-match suspension. His buildup play and willingness to go forward is imperative to the Magpies' success, even if it leaves them susceptible to a counter-attack.

Janmaat will slot back into his regular right back spot, though it's a tough matchup against an Arsenal side that was shutout by Liverpool last weekend.
