Palacios has been linked with a January move to La Liga side Real Betis, ESPN FC reports.

Palacios hasn't produced much at Stoke City since arriving from Tottenham in 2011. The combative midfielder has started just three league games for the Potters this season, so he may be offloaded to Spain, where he could feature more regularly ahead of this summer's World Cup.

Palacios was in the Starting XI for Wednesday's Capital One Cup match against Walsall but was subbed off by Marc Wilson in the 46th minute.

The match was Palacios' first action since he left Stoke's Premier League opener against Liverpool on August 17 after warmups and was rushed to the hospital with some kind of illness. However, he's back on the pitch now and should be good to go for Saturday's match against West Ham.

Palacios has only appeared twice since signing from Tottenham but the Honduras international will look to provide a midfield presence for a Stoke side that is currently eighth in the Premier League table.

Palacios (lower leg) received positive results from a scan on his injured leg, and is upbeat about his chances of returning in time for Honuduras' first World Cup game, according to Totteham's team website.

Honduras are considered a very long shot in a group with Spain, Switzerland and Chile. Their odds would be even longer with Palacios, arguably their most important player, on the shelf.
