David Villa said Thursday that he is fully recovered from his hamstring injury and believes he can play a full match Sunday against the Red Bulls, according to the New York Daily News. "I feel good," Villa said. "I'll be able to go 90."

Villa missed a number of games with the ailment and then came off the bench last Sunday against Seattle. The NYC FC attack is obviously much more potent when Villa is on the pitch, and it appears he'll be there for the big NY derby.

Villa is unlikely to play Friday against Chicago because of his hamstring injury, MLSSoccer.com reports.

Villa suffered a setback with a previous injury last Thursday against Philadelphia and was then held out of Sunday's game against Portland. Manager Jason Kreis noted that Villa is working on his own and has not joined with full team training yet, which he will obviously have to do before a return is considered. If he does sit out, his next opportunity to play will come May 3 against Seattle.

Villa was dominant on Sunday against New England, finishing with six shots, one assist and his first MLS goal in a 2-0 NYC victory.

After being held off of the score-sheet last week versus Orlando, Villa bounced back with a performance more in line with his expectations for the year. He will look to keep it up on Saturday versus Colorado.

Villa assisted on Mix Diskerud's goal during NYC FC's 1-1 draw with Orlando City SC on Sunday.

Villa was kept off the ball for much of the second half, but he was very active in the second and had a perfect little pass to Diskerud, who powered home from just inside the box. Villa will continue to be at the middle of the NYC FC attack this season, and he'll look for his first goal next Sunday at home against New England.
