Villa attempted seven shots and scored the second goal in a Man of the Match performance during Saturday's 3-2 win over Philadelphia.

Villa showed no signs of rust after a two-week layoff, as he threatened the Union back line early and often and deftly tucked home a back-heel from Jack Harrison with his left foot in the 21st minute. Villa has been prolific this season and is in good form at the moment, with three goals and an assist in his last three matches. He will look to extend his current streak next week versus Seattle.

Villa took 10 shots, with five on target, scored a goal and assisted on another during NYC FC's 3-2 home loss to Real Salt Lake on Thursday.

Villa has scored six goals in his last six starts, and he continues to pepper in shots, taking 19 in his last two games. The NYC FC defense continues to struggle, which means Villa will continue to be relied upon to get them back into games, all but assuring high shot toals.

Villa scored a single goal on a game-high eight shots (two on goal) Sunday as NYCFC played Orlando City to a 2-2 draw at home.

A beautiful lob pass from Andrea Pirlo at the 66th minute of Sunday's match fell at the feet of a streaking Villa, who then lifted a right footed shot over the head of Orlando City goalkeeper Joe Saunders to put NYCFC up 2-0 over the Lions. Unfortunately, a penalty kick three minutes later that would have likely resulted in a second-consecutive goal for the foward went awry as Villa slipped on his approach to the ball and sent it sailing high into the crowd. Despite that mishap, Villa now finds himself pacing MLS for both total goals (9) and shots (77) on the year.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Villa scored the opening goal on a team-high six shot attempts during Sunday's 2-1 win over Portland.

Villa's goal was a bit controversial, as RJ Allen appeared to handle the ball before sending an inch-perfect through ball to him, but he coolly slotted it home to tie for the league lead in scoring. He will head into Wednesday's match versus Toronto having scored six goals in his last six matches.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Villa scored both goals for NYCFC in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Toronto.

Villa scored his first goal of the season with a penalty kick, and then just four minutes later he scored his second. Villa bagged 18 goals last season and surely has the upside to reach that level again.

Villa said he could be available for loan until March after New York FC failed to reach the MLS playoffs, according to the Daily Mail.

The veteran insisted that nothing was complete, but that he has been fielding a number of calls on the subject. He moved to the MLS from La Liga in 2014.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Villa (hamstring) will start in Saturday's game against the Earthquakes.

Villa has been sidelined with hamstring injury of late but NYC is facing elimination from the playoff race and desperately needs him on the pitch. With that, it's possible that Villa is playing while less than 100 percent, although Villa at less than full strength is still a valuable asset across all formats.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Villa (hamstring) is not in the 18-man squad to face Toronto on Wednesday.

Villa was questionable coming into the match due to the ailment, and he'll take a seat with the hope that he can recover in time to face San Jose at home on Saturday. Patrick Mullins will start against Toronto on Wednesday.
