Aguero took seven shots (four on target) and scored his first goal of the season in Sunday's 3-0 victory against Chelsea.

Repeatedly probing against the typically stout Chelsea back four, Aguero found the back of the net in the 31st minute on a slow roller that beat Asmir Begovic in the bottom left corner of the goal. After 26 goals in the EPL last season en route to winning the Golden Boot, this should be the first of many for Aguero as long as he can stay on the pitch.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Aguero is starting Sunday against Chelsea.

Aguero came off the bench in the opener last Monday against West Brom after a late start to preseason following the Copa America, but he was never expected to spend more time as a reserve. His return to the starting XI will push Wilfired Bony to the bench.

Aguero (illness) is available off the bench Monday against West Brom.

Aguero started preseason training late because of Copa America, and then he picked up a virus last week, though manager Manuel Pellegrini said Friday that Aguero was fit to play Monday. Wilfried Bony will get the start against West Brom, while Aguero figures to make an appearance at some point.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Aguero (illness) has been deemed fit to play Monday against West Brom after recovering from an illness, though manager Manuel Pellegrini may not start him given his late start to preseason following the Copa America.

Aguero appeared to be well ahead of his international teammates Pablo Zabaleta and Martin Demichelis in getting back on the field, and while he was sent home from training Wednesday because of a virus, it was never considered serious enough to keep him out Monday. If he does not start at the Hawthorns, Wilfried Bony would likely slot into his place.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Aguero is questionable for Manchester City's Premier League season opener against West Brom on Monday because of an illness, The Guardian reports.

Aguero, who was previously expected to miss the beginning of the season due to his delayed start thanks to Copa America, was sent home from training Wednesday with David Silva and Samir Nasri to ensure they didn't pass along the illness to other players. Nevertheless, manager Manuel Pellegrini is optimistic he'll be fit enough to play. If he's not, Wilfried Bony is likely to get the start.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Aguero will miss the beginning of the Premier League season because of his time with Argentina during the Copa America, Stu Brennan of the Manchester Evening News reports.

Man City opens their season Aug. 10 against West Brom, and with Aguero likely to join up with the club in the first week of August, he won't have nearly enough time to get fit for that game. If it's just the single absence, he could make his season debut Aug. 16 against Chelsea. Wilfried Bony could get the start in the opener, though he is dealing with an illness that has kept him from playing with the squad in the preseason.

Aguero will have scans on his shoulder after injuring it during Tuesday's Copa America match against Uruguay, ESPN FC reports.

Aguero scored the only goal of the match early in the second half but had to come off late due to the ailment. Carlos Tevez replaced him Tuesday and could take his spot in the starting lineup Saturday against Jamaica if he's unable to play.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Aguero earned the first Golden Boot award of his career as he scored 26 league goals for Manchester City, finishing with 32 goals and nine assists overall.

The Argentine scored in bunches all season and finished the season with nine goals and two assists in his final seven matches en route to a new career-high. Manchester City are unwilling to listen to any offers for Aguero despite significant interest, and are currently looking to extend his contract, which already runs through 2019.
