Aguero (knee) scored in the seventh minute of Manchester City's 4-2 win over Hull City on Saturday.

Aguero now has four goals this season, including two in his last three Premier League matches. He is an elite goal-scorer when he's fit, which he is now, with an encouraging matchup against Aston Villa next weekend, which is preceded by a Champions League match Tuesday against a strong Roma side.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed Friday that Aguero (knee) is fit to face Hull City on Saturday.

Aguero was held out of Wednesday's Capital One Cup match against Bolton with a knee injury, though it was clearly a front to rest him before the weekend's Premier League match. With Stevan Jovetic still sidelined with a hamstring injury, Aguero will likely start up front with Edin Dzeko again.

Aguero will not play in Manchester City's Capital One Cup match against Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday due to a slight knee injury, but he is expected to face Hull City on Saturday. "I think...Sergio will recover without any problems for Saturday," manager Manuel Pellegrini said Tuesday.

Pellegrini probably just needed a reason to keep Aguero out for the Cup match, with a knee issue one that hasn't been used in the past for the Argentine striker. With nearly a full week of rest, he will likely be back in the starting XI for City's Premier League tie.

Aguero is expected to be in the starting XI for Manchester City's Premier League match against Chelsea on Sunday after coming off the bench in Wednesday's Champions League match against Bayern Munich. "Maybe Sergio in this moment is not ready to play three games in a row in just one week," manager Manuel Pellegrini said Friday. "That's why I thought it was better for him and the squad for him not to play 90 minutes against Bayern. He is fresh for Sunday and I'm sure he will make a difference."

With Stevan Jovetic ruled out with a hamstring injury, Aguero will draw the start ahead of Edin Dzeko, who is dealing with a back injury himself. Aguero has three goals in four appearances this season.

Aguero scored in the 28th minute of Manchester City's 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Saturday.

With Stevan Jovetic sidelined with a thigh injury, manager Manuel Pellegrini chose to start Aguero up front alone, with Edin Dzeko replacing him after 66 minutes. Aguero now has three goals in four matches this season and he'll look to keep it going at home next Sunday against Chelsea.

Aguero is in the starting XI for Manchester City's Premier League match against Stoke City on Saturday.

With Edin Dzeko a little banged up, Aguero will get the start, although manager Manuel Pellegrini said Friday that he isn't sure how many minutes Aguero will be able to play. Regardless of how many it is, Aguero has shown he can be a force in an instant, as he has a goal in both of City's league matches this season off the bench.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Aguero is fit to face Stoke City on Saturday, but manager Manuel Pellegrini said Friday "we'll see tomorrow how many minutes he will play."

Aguero has come off the bench for both of Man City's Premier League matches this season, although he's netted in each. With Stevan Jovetic healthy and Edin Dzeko fit following a boot to the thigh Monday against Liverpool, Pellegrini has no reason to force Aguero to play the full 90.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Aguero came on for Edin Dzeko in the 68th minute and scored a goal 23 seconds later in Manchester City's 3-1 win over Liverpool on Monday.

Aguero was delayed in training following a long run at the World Cup with Argentina, but that has hardly limited his fantasy value through two Premier League matches. While he doesn't get many points for his substitute appearances, two goals in two matches could pave the way for a move into the starting XI on Saturday against Stoke City.
