Aguero is in the starting XI for Wednesday's match against Sunderland.

Aguero has not started a Premier League match since January 29 against Tottenham, which is also the last time he scored a goal. He will be up front with Alvaro Negredo, who is also in a scoring slump, although his is not injury-related like Aguero's.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Aguero (hamstring) is available off the bench for Sunday's Premier League match against Liverpool at Anfield.

Aguero has missed the last five games, and he'll be eased back into the City lineup. Edin Dzeko starts up front Sunday, but Aguero is certainly expected to feature at some point. If he's able to make it through the match Sunday, he could play a bigger role Wednesday against Sunderland.

Aguero is set to return from his hamstring injury to play Sunday against Liverpool, ESPN FC reports.

Aguero has missed City's last five games, but his return is a huge boost for a side that doesn't score nearly as much when he's on the sideline. It's unclear if he will start Sunday's match, but he's a very enticing play for gameweek 34, as City also play Sunderland on Wednesday.

Manchester City initiated contract discussions with Aguero (hamstring) in an effort to extend his spell with the club beyond next season, reports the Daily Mail.

Aguero scored 26 goals in 28 matches so far this season, and is understood to have met with team officials last week. The forward is currently on the sidelines with a hamstring issue, and is expected to return to face Liverpool this weekend.

Aguero (hamstring) has been ruled out of Saturday's match against Southampton, the club's official web site reports. "It is too soon for Sergio," manager Manuel Pellegrini said. "He has trained for only two days and needs more time. Perhaps one week more and he should be fine for the game against Liverpool."

Fantasy owners have been patiently waiting for Aguero to get back on the pitch, but he said earlier this week that he would not rush back and potentially expose himself to re-injury, which would also jeopardize his World Cup availability. Even if he does return against Liverpool, it would be surprising if he started, or played the entire 90 minutes.

Aguero has officially been ruled out for Saturday's match against Arsenal, the club's official web site reports. "Aguero needs one more week, we will see next week how he improves from his injury," manager Manuel Pellegrini said Friday.

Aguero has 15 goals and five assists in his 17 appearances, but his hamstring injury continues to keep him out. The good news is that he's close to a return, but it wouldn't be surprising if he wasn't immediately inserted into the starting XI, especially with Edin Dzeko, Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic fully fit.

Aguero is not expected to play in Saturday's match against Arsenal due to his hamstring injury, but he may return the following weekend against Southampton, the Daily Star reports.

Aguero has not played since aggravating his hamstring injury against Barcelona in the Champions League on March 12, but was expected to return this weekend against Arsenal. With Edin Dzeko, Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic all fully fit, City can afford to hold out Aguero until he is 100 percent, in order to avoid yet another aggravation.

Aguero (hamstring) was back in training Thursday, although he is still not expected to play Saturday against Fulham or Tuesday against Manchester United, the Daily Mail reports.

Aguero is expected to return March 29 against Arsenal, which will be a big boost for a City side that needs his goal-scoring form. The Argentine has 15 goals in 17 Premier League appearances this season.
