Coloccini (hamstring) is starting Tuesday against Manchester United.

Coloccini was iffy for the match due to the ailment, he'll take his regular spot in the starting XI against a United team that has really struggled this season, particularly on the road, though they did score twice in their last league outing.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Coloccini (knock) faces a late fitness test ahead of Tuesday's fixture against Manchester United, the Newcastle Chronicle reports.

Coloccini's absence would surely be a big hit to Newcastle's defense, though his fantasy upside is always quite limited.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Coloccini opened the scoring for Newcastle as Siem De Jong's 38th-minute corner fortuitously ran through to the Argentine, who swept the ball low past Brad Guzan during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.

Newcastle have played much better of late, but Coloccini's goal was a somewhat random event, and he isn't likely to post a large number of clean sheets, making him a fairly weak fantasy option in many fantasy formats.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

The FA announced Tuesday they have overturned the red card given to Coloccini during last Sunday's match against Newcastle.

Coloccini was sent off after being accused of stopping a clear goal-scoring opportunity in the box, but it was a poor call right away and it's hardly surprising that his appeal was successful.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Coloccini was given a straight red card in the 45th minute of Saturday's match against Sunderland, and he will be suspended for next week's match against Stoke City.

Coloccini was tossed for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity, though because it was not a dangerous play, he will be able to return Nov. 7 against Newcastle. Steven Taylor could replace him at centerback alongside Chancel Mbemba.

Coloccini scored an own goal and picked up a yellow card in Saturday's 1-0 loss to Arsenal.

The Magpies' captain was unlucky to deflect Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's 52nd minute strike into the net for the only goal of the game. The typically stout center back has scored just six goals in 252 matches for Newcastle United, but even at 33-years-old, is a sound defender most of the time. However, he's not really much of a fantasy option.

Coloccini (Achilles) is starting Sunday against Southampton.

Coloccini did not travel on the club's preseason tour to the United States, and there was a chance he wasn't going to be fit for the opener. However, he worked through the issue and will be out there against a very solid Southampton attack.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Coloccini is not playing during the club's preseason U.S. tour, and he could miss the start of the season because of a lack of match fitness, the Newcastle Chronicle reports.

Coloccini battled an Achilles injury, and while he appears to be over that, he's still far removed from the fitness levels of his teammates, and he's unlikely to get there in time for the season-opener. He may be fit enough for the bench, but a starting spot early on seems unlikely.
