RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike finished with 11 points (3-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists and two steals across 35 minutes during Tuesday's 70-68 victory over the Sparks.

Though she secured a double-double, Ogwumike's struggles from the field certainly took a toll on the team, as she was just one of two starters to shoot less than 50 percent. She had been relatively efficient in the postseason up to Tuesday, though her scoring is down significantly compared to the regular season. In these playoffs, she's posting just 13.6 points per game compared to her regular season total of 18.8 points per game.

Nneka Ogwumike: Past News Updates   ( ▲ View most recent update )

September 20, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike finished with nine points (3-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 12 rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block across 31 minutes during Sunday's 89-87 victory over the Mercury.

Ogwumike's five shot attempts were her lowest of the season, though slipping into single-digits in that category is nothing new for her. Overall, she's still been producing well in the postseason, averaging 15.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.7 blocks per contest.

September 15, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike finished with 18 points (6-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-5 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and two steals across 32 minutes during Thursday's 86-72 victory over the Mercury.

Ogwumike's performances have been a solid foundation for the Sparks' two straight playoff victories, as she's averaged 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 assists per contest. She was one of the best frontcourt DFS options during the regular season, and it's no surprise that's continued during the postseason.

September 13, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike finished with 19 points (8-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-6 FT), nine rebounds, three steals and one assist across 34 minutes during Tuesday's 79-66 win over the Mercury.

Ogwumike's 2017 playoff debut was relatively typical by her own standards. During the regular season, she averaged 18.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.8 steals across 30.9 minutes per game. She wasn't phased in the slightest by opposing frontcourt talent Brittany Griner, who grabbed just two boards, committed five turnovers and fouled out.

September 5, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike finished with 21 points (10-15 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, five steals and three assists across 30 minutes during Sunday's 81-70 win over the Sun.

Ogwumike made sure to end the 2017 regular season on a high note, swiping a season-high five steals -- one short of her career high. This season, she's made strides in two areas of her game -- her defense and three-point shooting. She posted a career-high 1.8 steals during 2017, surpassing her previous best of 1.7 steals per game back in 2014. But, that 2014 season was followed by 1.0 steals and 1.2 steals per contest in 2015 and 2016 respectively. She also took a career-high 53 threes this season -- hitting them at a 34.0 percent clip -- passing last season's mark of 26 three-point attempts, of which she made 61.5 percent. While the efficiency dropped, 2016's sample size was much smaller, as she took less than one per game. Overall, Ogwumike will look to take the momentum of Sunday's regular-season finale into the postseason.

August 29, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike finished with eight points (4-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one steal across 24 minutes during Sunday's 78-67 win over the Lynx.

Ogwumike had just her second single-digit scoring outing of the season Sunday, though she saw just 24 minutes compared to her usual 31.3 minutes per game. The performance is also somewhat surprising considering she had just come off a streak of three games where she posted at least 21 points and 10 boards in each. Overall, however, her averages of 18.9 points, 7.9 boards, 2.1 assists and 1.7 steals still make her one of the best options available for use in DFS.

August 25, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike provided 21 points (9-17 FG, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds, three steals, one assist and one block across 29 minutes during Thursday's 82-67 victory over the Mercury.

Ogwumike has been on a roll over the past three games, tallying at least 21 points, 10 rebounds and three steals in each. She's also handed out a combined nine assists over that stretch. While she's bound to come back down to earth eventually, this kind of play isn't completely unexpected from Ogwumike, who posts impressive averages of 19.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.8 steals across 31.5 minutes per game.

August 23, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike provided 22 points (9-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 14 rebounds, four assists and three steals across 30 minutes during Tuesday's 75-55 victory over the Stars.

Ogwumike made easy work of the Stars on Tuesday, dominating both sides of the ball. To put in perspective how impressive of a season she's having, Tuesday's performance marked the fifth time this season that she's tallied at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and three steals in a single game. Overall, no doubt remains that Ogwumike is one of the best DFS options available for use on any given gameday, as she's averaging 19.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.7 steals across 31.6 minutes per appearance.

August 12, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike finished with a season-low three points (1-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Friday's 70-64 victory over the Lynx.

Ogwumike, normally a model of consistency for the Sparks, had her worst game of the season Friday. While she was proficient on the glass and as a distributor, it certainly did not make up for her abysmal scoring effort. That said, Ogwumike averages 19.6 points per game on the year, so Friday's performance can likely be chalked up to an outlier.

August 8, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike finished with 21 points (7-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist across 36 minutes during Sunday's 85-79 loss to the Wings.

Ogwumike has been playing up to her averages over the past three games, rewarding those who deployed her in DFS. While she's had the occasional down game or cold stretch, Ogwumike is still one of the best frontcourt players in the WNBA, making her a legitimate fantasy option every night the Sparks take the floor.

August 1, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike contributed 22 points (10-13 FG, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and one steal across 25 minutes during Sunday's 95-74 victory over the Wings.

After struggling in the scoring department during her previous two appearances, totaling just 24 points on 10-of-25 shooting, Ogwumike resumed her usual standard of play Sunday. On the season, she's posting 19.7 points, 7.8 boards, 2.0 assists and 1.7 steals across 31.1 minutes per game. Not only does she have big-game potential, she's generally one of the more consistent frontcourt players available for use in DFS.

July 29, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike tallied 11 points (5-14 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one steal across 27 minutes during Friday's 85-73 victory over the Stars.

Ogwumike hasn't been her usual self in the scoring department over the past two outings, going a combined 10-for-25 en route to 24 points when her scoring average on the year stands at 19.5 points per game. She didn't make up for her subpar scoring by excelling in any other part of the box score, either. That said, there's seemingly no reason to jump ship on Ogwumike's fantasy value, as no doubt remains that she's one of the best frontcourt players in the league. The past two contests can likely be chalked up to outliers.

July 26, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike managed 13 points (5-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-6 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block across 32 minutes during Tuesday's 68-60 win over the Storm.

In a slow-paced grind of a game, Ogwumike managed to score just 13 points, though did it with relative efficiency. Efficiency aside, more is definitely expected from the forward in the scoring department, as she's posting 20.0 PPG on the season. That said, she played up to her standards in essentially every other aspect of the box score, scraping together a decent game from a fantasy perspective.

July 20, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike finished with 24 points (9-20 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and 10 rebounds across 34 minutes during Thursday's 82-80 loss to the Sky. She'll head into the All-Star break averaging 20.3 points, 7.9 boards, 2.0 assists and 1.9 steals across 31.6 minutes per game.

Ogwumike has been on a roll over the past five games, averaging 23.0 points, 11.2 boards, 2.0 steals and 1.8 assists per contest. Due to her ability to not only score and rebound well as a forward, but also distribute and grab steals, Ogwumike heads into the All-Star break as one of the best DFS options available in the frontcourt. She's currently averaging career-highs in points and steals per game

July 18, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike recorded 14 points (7-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 12 rebounds, a season-high six assists, and three steals across 32 minutes during Monday's 80-62 victory over the Fever.

The Sparks cruised to a blowout victory over the Fever on Monday, allowing Ogwumike to take a slight backseat in the scoring department. In doing so, she handed out a season-high six assists -- just two shy of her career-high eight, which she's achieved twice. She's been especially active on the glass lately as well. Of her four double-digit rebounding efforts on the season, three of them have come over the past four contests. All in all, Ogwumike remains one of the best frontcourt options available in DFS, as she's posting 20.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals across 31.5 minutes per game.

July 14, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike recorded a game-high 29 points (10-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 7-7 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block across 34 minutes in Thursday's victory over the Sun.

It was a tremendous performance from Ogqumike, who has now had at least 20 points and nine rebounds in three straight games. The All-Star also now has four double-doubles on the season, and all have come with at least 20 points scored. Ogwumike has been on an absolute tear offensively all season, and she is showing no signs of slowing down.

July 10, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike posted 21 points (7-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-7 FT), nine rebounds, three steals and two blocks across 35 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Storm.

While she was just one rebound shy of her fourth double-double of the season, Ogwumike still managed to produce across the box score. What has made Ogwumike such a strong DFS play as of late, besides her always-effective scoring and rebounding, is her work on the defensive end. The forward has now posted three steals in three straight games and at least two steals in six straight games.

July 7, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike finished with 27 points (10-16 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 7-8 FT), 14 rebounds, three steals and one assist across 30 minutes during Thursday's 88-77 loss to the Lynx.

Thursday marked Ogwumike's first double-digit rebounding effort since June 9 against the Wings, where she snagged 13 boards. She's been effective on defense over the past five games, though, totaling 12 steals and three blocks over that stretch. Overall, Ogwumike is continuing her impressive season, posting 19.9 points (58.9 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from three), 7.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.8 steals across 31.1 minutes per game.

July 4, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike tallied 15 points (5-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, three assists, three steals, one block and two turnovers across 31 minutes during Sunday's 69-76 win over the Mystics.

Ogwumike's scoring totals have been down over the last few games compared to her season average of 19.4 points, but that's more because of the strong play from the likes of Candace Parker and Chelsea Gray rather than Ogwumike's own personal performance. Fantasy owners shouldn't be concerned and Ogwumike is still one of the better DFS options in the league, so continue to deploy her as usual. In addition to the 19.4 points per game, Ogwumike also boasts averages of 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 steals across 31.2 minutes.

June 27, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike had a team high 21 points and nine rebounds, along with two assists and two steals in the Sparks 87 to 79 win over the Sun.

Ogwumike has been one of the most dominant offensive players in the WNBA this season, with Tuesday's game being here eighth with at least 20 points. The forward was efficient in her effort Tuesday as well, making nine of her 13 shot attempts in her 32 minutes of action. She'll look to maintain her strong play against the Dream on Friday.

June 25, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike finished with a team-high 21 points (8-10 FG, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block across 30 minutes in Saturday's win over the Fever.

It was Ogwumike's seventh 20-plus point performance of the season, as the forward continues to be one of the league's elite offensive players. Ogwumike has had just one game this season where she has failed to score at least 15 points, and with her 6.7 rebounds per game, she is well on her way to having a career year in her sixth WNBA season.

June 19, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike recorded a team-high 18 points (8-9 FG, 2-2 FT), along with seven rebounds and two assists across 21 minutes in Sunday's victory against the Mercury.

Shooting at 88.9 percent from the field, Ogwumike had an incredibly efficient outing on Sunday to help lead the Sparks to a blowout win against Phoenix. The forward is averaging 20.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.5 blocks and 1.6 steals across 31.2 minutes per tilt. The sixth-year WNBA star remains to be a productive fantasy pick as she's posting the highest scoring averages of her career in the 2017 season thus far.

June 16, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike finished with 16 points (5-12, 6-7 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one block across 30 minutes in Thursday's win over the Stars.

It was a fairly standard performance for the All-Star, and she came just one rebound shy of her third double-double of the season. Ogwumike's fantasy production has, however, dipped a bit over her last two games thanks in large part to her lack of production on the defensive end. The forward went through a four-game stretch where she recorded 15 combined steals, and she has now failed to record a takeaway in each of her last two contests. Regardless, Ogwumike's consistency scoring and rebounding the basketball keep her as a reliable DFS option moving forward.

June 14, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Ogwumike totaled 21 points (7-8 FG, 7-7 FT), four rebounds and one assist across 32 minutes during Tuesday's 97-87 victory over the Wings.

After scoring a season-low 13 points during Saturday's victory, Ogwumike bounced back Tuesday with the kind of performance we've come to expect from her. The glaring difference in the scoring department between the two games came in the form of attempted free-throws, as she attempted just two on Saturday compared to seven on Tuesday. Part of what makes Ogwumike such an effective scorer is her ability to make opponents pay when they send her to the line considering she shoots 89.7 percent on those attempts. After Tuesday's outing, she's logging 21.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals across 32.4 minutes per contest.

Ogwumike managed a season-low 13 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) to go along with five rebounds, four assists, four steals and one block across 32 minutes during Saturday's 89-87 victory over the Mercury.

Saturday marked just the second time all season that Ogwumike hasn't scored at least 20 points. That said, she made sure to get her teammates involved and play good defense, as she dished a season-high four dimes and tied her season-high four steals. While those who deployed her in fantasy were probably disappointed, it was ultimately an uncharacteristic performance for Ogwumike. She'll likely get back on track during the Sparks' next game.

Ogwumike totaled 28 points (11-20 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 13 rebounds, three steals and two blocks during Friday's 96-90 loss to the Wings.

In addition to her back-to-back double-doubles, Ogwumike has also recorded 11 total steals over her past three contests, showing off her dominance on both sides of the rock. She's also on pace to shoot about 70 threes this season, which would be a significant jump over her 26 attempts last season, of which she drilled 16. Ogwumike seems to be looking to expand her game in 2017, which has paid off in the form of 22.1 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game.

Ogwumike finished with a team-high 20 points (5-7 FG, 1-3 3PT, 9-11 FT) and 11 rebounds along with three assists and four steals to help lead the Sparks to victory against the Sky on Tuesday.

Ogwumike's 20 points and 11 rebounds marks her first double-double of her 2017 campaign. The forward has been extremely consistent in scoring, producing above 20 points in every tilt besides one 15-point game. She's currently averaging 21.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.8 steals across 29.2 minutes, classifying her as an elite fantasy candidate.

Ogwumike supplied 22 points (9-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), seven rebounds, four steals and one assist across 33 minutes during Tuesday's 90-75 victory over the Liberty.

After a season-low 15 points during the Sparks' last matchup, Ogwumike got right back on track Tuesday in a decisive victory over the Liberty. In addition to her 22 points, Ogwumike also supplied a season-high four steals and matched her season-high seven boards. She's currently on pace for a career high in points per game (21.4) but a career low in rebounds (5.0). Early-season statistics aside, Ogwumike remains one of the premier fantasy options available on any given slate.

Ogwumike collected 15 points (5-11 FG, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, one block and two turnovers across 28 minutes during Saturday's 73-75 loss to the Dream.

It was Ogwumike's first contest of the season scoring less than 20 points, as she shot just 5-for-11 from the field and only took six free throw attempts. While it wasn't her strongest performance offensively, she still had a decent all-around impact on the box score and her seven boards marked a season high. That was especially encouraging considering she's currently averaging just 3.0 rebounds per game compared to 6.7 a season ago. Ogwumike is second in the league in scoring average, so look for a bounce-back performance offensively going into Tuesday's tilt with the Liberty.

Ogwumike finished Wednesday's 90-93 loss to the Fever with 24 points (7-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 10-11 FT), five rebounds, two assists and a turnover across 27 minutes.

While her rebounding numbers still leave something to be desired, Ogwumike has been an absolute force offensively over the first three games of the season. In Wednesday's contest specifically, she was able to shoot 70 percent from the field, while also getting to the free throw line a season-high 11 times, while converting on 10 of those. She's currently behind just Jewell Loyd for the WNBA's top scorers and should continue to be an elite fantasy option moving forward.

Ogwumike finished with 23 points (6-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 9-9 FT), three rebounds, three assists and a turnover across 34 minutes during Friday's 99-89 win over the Mystics.

After a career year during the 2016 season, Ogwumike has shown no signs of slowing down. While the Sparks have only played two games, Ogwumike has already logged back-to-back 23-point showings and appears to be locked in offensively, as she's combined to shoot 16-for-28 from the field and has hit all nine of her free throw attempts. She's grabbed just six rebounds over the first two contests, but after averaging 9.1 per game a season ago, look for a bump in that category moving forward, which should increase her overall fantasy value.
