Primoz Brezec

He averaged just 5.0 points and 3.2 rebounds in 58 games last year and rarely played more than 12 minutes a game. He was a 13 ppg, 7.4 rpg guy in 2005, but it looks like he won't reach those numbers again. With the depth on the front line and Vincent's up-tempo philosophy, Brezec is a weak option at center.

Brezec can shoot the rock, averaging over 51 percent in two seasons in Carolina. He doesn’t go off too many nights, but is a consistent 12/6 guy at center. At 7-1, we’d like to see more rebounds, but we’re not going to be too picky. He averaged 1.8 rebounds less per game last year – and that was with Emeka Okafur missing 56 games. Still, his 12.4 ppg was fourth among true centers and 11th when you add in the forward/centers. He’s not a bad option if you’ve been shut out of the top centers.

In Brezec, NBA expansion has created a valuable fantasy center. He emerged from three obscure seasons in Indiana to average 13.0 points and 7.4 rebounds in 31.6 minutes per game for Charlotte. The Bobcats acquired Jake Voskhul in the offseason, but he’s just a backup so that Emeka Okafor can play primarily at power forward. The young Bobcats will continue to develop and the same is true for Brezec.

Minutes off the Pacers' deep bench will still be a problem, even with the trade of Brad Miller. Brezec will still be third in line behind Scot Pollard and Jeff Foster. Brezec played well this summer for Slovenia in the European Olympic qualifying tournament.
