2017-18

2016-17

Back in Charlotte for the third time in his career, Sessions will also be joining his eighth different team in as many years. Still just 30 years old, the journeyman appeared in 82 games for the Wizards last season, averaging 9.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists in just over 20 minutes per game as the backup to John Wall. He'll fill a similar role for the Hornets behind Kemba Walker, serving mostly as a game-managing point guard who can push the ball in transition and finish at the rim. Sessions shot a career-best 47.3 percent from the field in 2015-16, with 65 percent of his attempts coming from within 10 feet. He's never been a strong outside shooter though, and he hit just 32.4 percent of his three-point attempts last season, which was actually a full point above his career mark. Sessions may be one of the NBA's more reliable backup point guards, but considering he's playing behind Walker, who ranked 14th in minutes per game (35.6) last season, he's unlikely to be a reliable fantasy commodity, barring an injury to Walker.

2015-16

In February, Sessions was traded from Sacramento to Washington for Andre Miller. One could look at that kind of trade as a complement to Sessions, but it might have been a picture of his best-case scenario. Sessions will never be as good as Miller at his height, but the current Wizard may be able to craft a Miller-like late career. The 6-3 guard has already been in the league for eight seasons and has played for seven franchises since being drafted in the second round of the 2007 draft by the Bucks. In 64 games between the Kings and Wizards last season, Sessions averaged 6.3 points (a career-low), 2.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 0.4 steals. His field goal conversion rate was also a career-low of 37 percent. He did hit 41 percent of his three-pointers with Washington, but that was in 32 attempts. Sessions will be the primary backup for John Wall, so his minutes will be limited. Fortunately, this is a role that the veteran point guard is accustomed to. He can start in a pinch, but he and the team may be best served if he is the field general for the second unit.

2014-15

Sessions missed all games after March 6 due to a sprained ACL. His role on the team will be determined by whether or not Pargo will be able to step up and act as a quality backup to Walker.

2013-14

Sessions missed all games after March 6 due to a sprained ACL. His role on the team will be determined by whether or not Pargo will be able to step up and act as a quality backup to Walker.

2012-13

Sessions is still young at just 26 years of age but is entering his sixth year in the league. He has averaged double-digit points per game in three of his first five seasons and will have an opportunity to do the same as a Bobcat in 2012-13. He is a solid player who will be in a four-player guard rotation and has the ability to be one of the more steady and efficient players on the Bobcats.

2011-12

One of the league’s premier backup point guards, Sessions is coming off a year in which he averaged a career-high 13.3 points per game. Sessions was forced into the starting lineup last year but with Irving in the picture this year, expect the vet to rarely see the court.

2010-11

Coach Byron Scott wanted to acquire a versatile guard who could either back up point guard Mo Williams or play alongside him, and Sessions fits the bill. With Delonte West out of the picture as well, Sessions should see his numbers rise after playing just 21.1 minutes per game last season.

2009-10

The three most important factors in real estate – and in determining Sessions’ fantasy value – are location, location, and location. A restricted free agent, he seems unlikely to return to the cost-cutting Bucks, who have Luke Ridnour and rookie Brandon Jennings under contract. The teams most interested in Sessions have been the Knicks and Clippers. From a fantasy perspective, the Knicks would be an ideal fit. Sessions could potentially supplant Chris Duhon as New York’s starter, and in Mike D’Antoni’s fast-paced offense would likely become a fantasy stud. In Los Angeles, the playing time situation – with Baron Davis, Eric Gordon and Sebastian Telfair on hand – is a lot murkier. Sessions isn’t much of a threat from the outside, and does most of his scoring on dribble-drives. When given starter’s minutes he’s been a triple-double threat, but thus far has been unable to win a starting job outright.

2008-09

The Bucks are feeling pretty good about Sessions after watching his finish last season. When Mo Williams went down with an abdomen injury, Sessions filled in for the final seven games of the season, averaging 13.1 assists and 13.1 points per game, including a 24-assist gem against the Bulls. The Bucks are feeling so good they traded Williams to Cleveland. While the production was impressive, keep in mind it was for a Milwaukee team playing out the April schedule, and the Bucks didn’t win a game Sessions started. Because of the Williams trade, Sessions’ value increases, but we’re still talking about an inexperienced point guard. New Bucks coach Scott Skiles will give Luke Ridnour a shot at running a team that has good scorers at every position. There’s a lot of offensive potential to this Milwaukee team with Michael Redd, Richard Jefferson, Charlie Villanueva and Andrew Bogut filling out the starting unit.

2007-08

Toward the end of last year, Sessions had over 20 assists in a single game. A quick decision-maker and crafty ball handler, he should eventually overtake Ridnour as the Bucks' starting point man. Sessions has already established an on-court rapport with Redd, Bogut, and Villanueva.
