RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2014-15

There was no outlook written for Michael Olowokandi.

2006-07

After playing in 16 games for Boston last year and with little to no interest in him over the summer, Olowokandi quietly returned to the Celtics, for the veteran minimum, in an attempt to resurrect his career. He should, however, not make the team and can open himself up for another job with a good camp.

2005-06

Olowokandi is entering the final year off his contract. The last time this was the case, he posted 12.3 points and 9.1 rebounds in 38.0 minutes per game for the Clippers. The Wolves would love to have that, but they are by no means counting on it. And neither should you. Injuries and lackadaisical play have marked his two seasons in Minnesota, where heís averaged 6.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in 105 games. Eddie Griffin could eventually become the starter at center, or maybe even Mark Madsen.

2004-05

Olowokandi just hasnít been the same since undergoing knee surgery early in 2003. Heís never been a great shooter (43.3 percent FG pct.), but he put up a solid season and half, scoring in double digits with nine rebounds and two blocks a game before the injury. Those numbers are not worthy of being selected as the first overall pick in the 1998 draft, but itís all the T-Wolves need out of him. He was used sparingly in the playoffs and may not beat out Ervin Johnson as the starter.

2003-04

The "Kandi Man" is coming off a disappointing season where he played just 36 games due to a variety of injuries. He actually improved slightly per game in points, rebounds and assists, but didn't meet everyone's expectations. He'll likely get less shots on a deep T-Wolves roster, but could also see his game improve now that he's out of the Clipper abyss. He'll start at center for Minnesota.
