Despite an offer of employment in the league after a 15-month absence, Clark has yet to sign the 10-day contract that the Cavs offered him this week and the team is ready to move in a different direction, the Akron Beacon-Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
Just like in their flirtation with Clark prior to training camp in September, it appears the Cavaliers' quest for his services might be in vain. After speaking with him this week, the Cavaliers aren't expecting him to be in Cleveland for Sunday's game and are rapidly considering other options to help replace injured power forward Anderson Varejao. Clark does have some rebounding and shot-blocking skills but doesn't seem to be motivated at this point to return to the Association.

2003 Fantasy Outlook
After putting up some solid numbers in Toronto two seasons ago, it appeared that Clark was ready to emerge given the right situation. That didn’t happen in Sacramento last year, but could occur in 2003-04 for the Jazz. He’s an athletic player who works best near the basket. His 48-minute averages are solid (14.5 points, 12.2 rebounds and 4.0 blocks). Utah is limited up front, so Clark should see ample playing time. We’re looking for 12 points, eight rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game. Keep him in mind on draft day. He qualifies at forward only, but may get time at center for Utah.
