Padgett will compete for a roster spot as a reserve power forward.
Padgett enters his seventh season, now with the Nets. Yet to average more than 17 minutes per game in his career, Padgett will be battling for playing time behind seasoned veterans like Cliff Robinson and Lamond Murray. Look for similar numbers as last season which will keep him off most fantasy rosters.
Padgett will back up Juwan Howard and Maurice Taylor at the four this season. He's got nice range from outside, but he's not much of a banger for a four.
He will be part of training camp and is not guaranteed a roster spot. Padgett played in all 82 games last season with Utah and could work his way into the rotation in the front court, but is unlikely to see many minuted with Rasheed Wallace and Zack Randolph ahead of him.
