Douglas-Roberts (Achilles) is without a concrete return timetable, NBA.com reports. “Now we’re just in the stage of getting back in the groove,” Douglas-Roberts said. “I have to start doing 1-on-1s, 2-on-2s. It’s hard to really practice that much because we’re in season. So I have to kind of do this kind of stuff on my own where I’m testing it out and seeing exactly where I’m at as far as actually playing in a real game.”

RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2016-17

There was no outlook written for Chris Douglas-Roberts.

2010-11

Douglas-Roberts had a few promising spurts of productivity with the Nets last season – most notably an 11-game November stretch in which he averaged 17.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals – but his season was marred by inconsistent playing time and performance. Now in Milwaukee, he figures to see about 15 minutes per game as a scorer off the bench. Unless injuries strike, that probably won't be enough for him to garner much fantasy value.

2009-10

CDR had an excellent college career at Memphis, but has yet to see that collegiate success carry over to NBA productivity. He's versatile and can play the 1, 2 or 3. Lawrence Frank is notoriously conservative with his young players (sans Brook Lopez), so it remains to be seen how many minutes Douglas-Roberts will see early on.

2008-09

CDR is a very awkward, unorthodox, but effective player. He has great length and slightly above average athleticism, but people probably overpenalize him for style. His story is very reminiscent of another highly effective college player who dropped in the draft and proved people wrong: Josh Howard (don't forget David West either). Both found a way to score, contribute, and lead their teams, but a lot of their skills were overlooked. Like many of the Nets players, take a late round flyer because he could really provide value. Don't count out his ability as a 3-point shooter either. He improved his percentage every year of college and finished as a 41% shooter from distance and a 54% shooter from the field. He has a great mid-range game which is rare in today's NBA and finds a way to contribute. Long-term, he's probably a quicker, more offensive minded Shane Battier and a solid defender who may provide a steal a game.
