RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
Reed will be a starting linebacker for Houston, likely at outside linebacker on the strong side, but there was some talk of having him play some in the interior. Having him learn the inside stuff will give coaches some in-game flexibility, but the Texans like Reed on the outside.
Reed will start at right outside linebacker for the Texans, where he is a sack threat due to his speed off the edge.
Reed was a defensive end during his years in college at the University of Arizona, but the Texans feel he's well-suited to be an outside linebacker in their new 3-4 defense. There's a good chance he'll be a regular contributor on defense, backing up Connor Barwin and Mario Williams on the edgge.
